Oversharing Online & Social Media Platforms
I believe that different social networking sites offer various benefits and negative drawbacks. I believe it all truly depends on what you are in search of and what your personal opinions are on the experiences you have online! The intention of different platforms is an element to consider as well, Linkedin is a site that promotes professional networking and career opportunities. Here, it is essential to be authentic but also monitor what you are displaying and how you are connecting with individuals as the intention is to represent yourself professionally. This is not a platform like Instagram or Snapchat where you are posting elements and aspects about your personal life and connecting with others on a social level. There are positives to both, but they are really different in the ways that you compose yourself.
In regards to the ways social networking sites promote mental health, I think if you are in control of a site where many individuals are contributing about their lives and connecting with others it is a great opportunity for you as a company to promote mental health, kind reminders, and offer resources. That is a great aspect of being such a large platform and being engaged in such a large platform that many positive aspects of awareness can be illuminated!
