Online Communication & Business Assessment

I wanted to reflect on Selena Gomez’s beauty brand called “Rare Beauty,” her brand is known for promoting and uplifting your self-worth, love, and mental health! Not only has she done a great job of promoting more than just her products through the organizational layout of her website and browsing options, but there is an entire section on her website that reflects the rare impact! Here her brand can communicate its mission, values, and purpose, as well as its continuing positive impact on society.

At the top of the website, their logo is featured as “rare beauty”, on the homepage, there are various access points to different products, information pages, and bestsellers, and the bottom of their website has all of their easy access titles pages which allow visitors to see their multiple social media platforms and access customer service elements easily. I think that this is one of the most effective ways to distribute the products and resources that your brand provides and it is done in an aesthetic manner that engages visitors and allows them to effortlessly browse through their website.

The company Rare Beauty does a great job of representing their identity online through their website, not only through the rare impact pages of their website, but in the middle of their home page there is an image of the owner of the brand Selena Gomez with an access point to their page which describes “what makes us rare.” Through this, they are providing visitors and the public with their identity and they share these aspects of their brand openly and wonderfully! Throughout the week 5 readings which reflect technology and the presentation of oneself, the LinkedIn article highlights some key elements of how to professionally show your identity online. I think that this brand has solidified many of these key elements throughout its online presence across its multiple platforms. The highlighted elements include 1. Define your purpose, 2. Choose your platforms, 3. Optimize your profiles, 4. Create and share valuable content etc..

I do not think there are any specific points where this brand needs to improve its online communication. Even before I began my research I knew that this would be a great brand to reflect on as they have a great social media presence and through the sharing of their identity and self in the digital world, individuals know that their brand is great.
